Summer is Almost Here - Prep and Plan some Summer Fun for the Whole Family Locally

 

It is not always easy to find things to do let alone free family fun but... let OC Parks help!

 

 

Celebrate the summer season with 10 Free Concerts + 14 free movie screenings at OC Parks June 16 – September 14

 

The County of Orange and OC Parks are pleased to present the annual #OCParks Summer Concert Series and Sunset Cinema film series.

 

Enjoy summer nights at the parks with free concerts and movie screenings in a family-friendly atmosphere.

All events will include free parking with food and drink available for purchase. Dates and times vary per series.

 

Details of the Music Events-

OC Parks Summer Concert Series returns with 10 free outdoor concerts Thursday evenings, June 21 – August 23 from 5 – 8 p.m. Enjoy live music with friends and family under the summer sky at Craig Regional Park, Mason Regional Park, Irvine Regional Park, Mile Square Regional Park and Bluff Park at Salt Creek Beach. 

 

The concert series kicks off with Donavon Frankenreiter on June 21, followed by popular local and national artists including Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, Stone Soul, Flashback Heart Attack, Hollywood U2 and Topcat, The English Beat, Sweet & Tender Hooligans, The Fenians, Matt Costa, Tijuana Dogs and Family Style, with more artists still to be announced.

 

OC Parks Sunset Cinema film series brings the big screen to your favorite regional parks.

 

Fourteen free movie screenings will take place June 16 – September 14 around sunset at Carbon Canyon Regional Park, Craig Regional Park, Mason Regional Park, Irvine Regional Park, Yorba Regional Park, Laguna Niguel Regional Park, Mile Square Regional Park and Bluff Park at Salt Creek Beach. People of all ages can enjoy recent favorites and popular classics with free parking beginning at 6 p.m. and show times at approximately 8 p.m.

 

Saturday night films kick off on June 16 and include The Jungle Book (2016), The Lion King (1994), Guardians of the Galaxy (2014), and Honey I Shrunk the Kids (1989). Friday night films kick off on July 13 and include Trolls (2016),  Ghostbusters (1984), Zootopia(2016), The Karate Kid (1984), The Secret Life of Pets(2016), A League of Their Own (1992), Coco (2017), Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981), Moana (2016), and Jaws (1975).

 

“We are thrilled to bring so much entertainment to the community this summer,” said Andrew Do, Chairman of the Orange County Board of Supervisors. “These events offer family-friendly activities and an opportunity to get outside and enjoy our parks across the county.”

 

The OC Parks Summer Concert Series and OC Parks Sunset Cinema film series are free to attend, with free parking and open to the public of all ages.

 

Food trucks will be serving at each location and a beer and wine garden will be available to those 21 and over. Gather friends and family and enjoy free concerts and movie screenings this summer with OC Parks.
