Autism Special Needs Friendly Tips for Staying at Grand Legacy At The Park Hotel in Anaheim Across from Disneyland

Autism Friendly Hotel Tips for Grand Legacy At The Park Hotel Across From Disneyland

Our family loves to stay and play at Grand Legacy At The Park Hotel in Anaheim. I wanted to put together in one post the autism friendly tips and tricks we've used over the last 3.5 years or so.

A few tips from when my son was about 3 and up to date to today...

With that said my son is now 6.5, we've been staying since he was 3 and mostly non verbal. He sleeps well but is all over the place until then so high energy. He is now verbal and a very, very picky eater, eating only 7 things since I took dyes and most carbs out. He is still working through some sensory things as well and at times can be a flight risk.

What has helped us..

* The walk to the park security line is short sweet and not overwhelming. Under 5 mins with a slow pace.

* The hotel staff. Keep them aware with a call prior and a reminder a week or so before about any special needs.

* Rooms. We have found that as he's gotten older noise has become less of an issue over fixation of something in sight and running for it. With that said... rooms near the elevators a bit noisier to a sensitive ear. Also rooms in the new tower up front towards the upper level floor under the rooftop can have some noise heard until the fun shuts down about 1am or so. I suggest front tower third or second floor under the FifthOC  rooftop lounge and away from elevators.

Also there are stairs. Sometimes the elevator can either be a distraction in a negative way such as pushing all the buttons immediately before I can blink and there are times if there's too many people he won't want to go in. The stairs are handy for us with this.

Top 5 Reaseons We Stay At Grand Legacy At The Park Hotel in Anaheim

Happy Summer Planning!!

Ready for our Staycation Favorites on Grand Legacy At The Park - Hotel Next to Disneyland Resort?!

I've written about how much we enjoy staying and playing at our favorite local Anaheim Hotel, Grand Legacy At The Park many times... we really so enjoy it!

But.. this time I am just summing up our most favorite things about why we stay and enjoy it... feet away from Disneyland!

* Walking distance to parks.. and by walking I mean under 5 mins if you get stuck at the crossing light to main security check in! Check out one of my videos of the easy walk to the main gates here.

* Heated pool. Sometimes the kids skip the day pool play and want to swim at night while watching fireworks.

It's heated so that is totally possible at night and we all love it's relaxing atmosphere.

Grand Legacy At The Park - Perfect Location for A Lot of Local Fun in SoCal

Wow We Rocked 2016 Locally Visiting so Many Hot Spots for Family/Date Night Fun!

This last year we spent a lot of time spending a lot of time together hehe. It was an honor to have the privileged to cover so many fantastic events this last year.

I really hope you enjoyed all of our live coverage, posts, recaps, social shares and info through out the year.

We are eager to kick off 2017 with more fun to share and places to go all around OC and beyond.

One of our most favorite places to stay is the Grand Legacy at the Park. I have covered the hotel itself many times. We have taken walks to and from the main gates of Disneyland Parks and shared all the family fun that can be had at the hotel itself all year round.

But I also wanted to share a perspective from the eyes and mind of a planner that looks at practicality as well as the fun to be had!

With that said, this past year, I took the opportunity to really plan a stay around the Grand Legacy at the Park and more than once, not just a staycation...

Our run of family fun.

Welcome to OC Fletcher Family!

I am so honored to have been at the Fifth, the Grand Legacy rooftop Lounge, on Tuesday to see the faces of this beautiful family enjoy making memories together that will surely last them for years to come.

This wonderful family spent the day at California Adventure and soaked up as much of the Disney fun they could before arriving at the Rooftop for dinner and a beautiful sunset view.

When we first started chatting they were super friendly and opened up right away and express their gratitude to everyone for making this dream come true. Getting everyone together to that her mothers kids and grand-kids were all in one place... priceless.

Anaheim's Only Rooftop Lounge The Fifth Sneak Peek

Anaheim's Only Rooftop Lounge The Fifth

Views of Disneyland and Disney's California Adventure Parks are Stunning

I was able to visit The Fifth, the Grand Legacy at the Park's new Roof Top Lounge, as a guest last Friday.

They are currently only open to their Hotel Guests but this Friday I will also be attending their Hospitality Night as a guest in hopes to bring you the Fireworks that I was not able to bring you last week. The weather totally matter with this Disney Fun hehe.

The Fifth will offer a full bar with specialty drinks from those you know to some that have been created for the bar itself by the staff and owner.

Of course I had to try a few.. my favorite was the Sammy Loves Peaches.. yum so on point for me.

There will also be a menu of small bites that, once open to the public or if you are staying over night soon, I totally suggest trying while you watch the sunset dip into the background of Disneyland!

Loved the Caprice Skewers and the Roastbeef Wrap!

Don't forget the dessert... fresh Cookie Ice Cream Sandwich!

It really is beautiful at any time of day but... the sunset into the evening is just breathtaking.

For a few hours before the sun totally sets and the Fireworks hopefully go off nightly... there is often live Music that will be there for your enjoyment.

Follow Along THIS FRIDAY When I Go Back to Catch The Fireworks Live from The Fifth!

Insider Look - Remodel, Revamp and Rebirth of the Grand Legacy at the Park - Staycation Perfection

We Love Family Time Spent at The Grand Legacy at the Park!

Perfect Staycation Location in Central OC! I've got the scoop on all the new additions coming with in the next few months!

Formerly knows as Ramada Main Gate at the Park, The Grand Legacy at the Park, has been working extremely hard towards a revamp, refreshed and remodeled look for 2016! They even have a new sign up that has a star that changes color and are so proud of the date Feb 2, 2016, when they officially became known as the Grand Legacy at the Park!! I am so excited for them all too.

We have stayed at the hotel a few times and each time is a blast. (You can see my reviews and experience in previous blog posts by searching Ramada Main Gate and Grand Legacy)

We usually hit the Disney Parks as a given when we stay at the Grand Legacy, but this time decided to hit the parks on day 2.
Did you know that they offer annual pass discounts and also early check in?! Love it!

This time since it was over Spring Break we decided to just go with the flow. What I mean to say is, take it slow, not rush through the beauty of the property itself and enjoy the things that are there for us to relax and do.

Something fresh and fun...I had a lot of fun taking pics in the stand alone photo booth inside of the new classy lobby.

Not going to lie, I could have sat there for an hour taking pics to post and send, but soon this fun way to share selfies at the Grand Legacy will be on their soon to be open Roof Top Lounge, The 5ifth!!

Legoland Fun Top Tips

Legoland Tips for Lots of Super Fun!

Welcome to summer early now that the water park is OPEN and welcome to fun for everyone.

Took us about 45mins to get down and into the parking lot. Parking was $10 for general admission so we were good with that.

We met up with our girls and immediately jammed into the park to get on our first ride. We were walking past the entrance and went to the left. It's usually more crowded that way but we saw a tent up that I have never seen and went to check it out. - Quick Tip - Start out to the right of the park and work your way back around the opposite loop. Less crowded.

We made our way to Heartlake City - a total favorite of the girls. Here they watched a live show, took pics with the Lego Best Friends, Groomed Horses at the stables and even rode one on the Carousel! Best area for Lego Friends Fans!

Of course we had to head over to a special sweet treat for us moms! Hello Apple Fries my friends, I have missed you! Lets get two!
Just around the corner from our snack we were able to get the girls on the best ride in the park, I mean well it is my favorite ride, just not my day to ride it. They loved it. Their faces say it all. Love the Knight's Tournament ride!

The girls conquered all the Legoland challenges and loved the Dragon coaster and the test track. So many great rides for all ages, we were all having a blast!

It's Lego Ducks aka Ducks of Legoland

On our our way around the park my kiddo some how decided she would scratch her own hand with her own hand and a tree walking or shall I say.... running like a nut!

Off we go to first aid. Let me tell you - Legoland's first aid is amazing. They are on it. Nice, friendly and super fast with the help. Did I mention I saw an outlet and wanted to sit and charge my phone. Oh, I didn't, well that's what I wanted to do but the girls were ready for more Lego fun.

We went on the Tour boats and ran through Heartlake City once more and did a few fun "chores" in the stables. The girls were loving it so much!

It was dinner time and time to head over to Legoland's Pizaa and Pasta Buffet ! They have so many different pizza options, I had at least 3 pastas and a full salad bar with cold pasta as well. SO MUCH TO EAT and the best part..... Kids are FREE after 3pm right now for a limited time!

So much fun all day long. The day goes by way to fast. You can add water park entrance to your ticket too but we would need another day for that.... hope to return soon to splash around in the water park fun!

Top 7 tips and must do's at Legoland:

* Take advantage of the Buy a Day Get 4 free. (5 consecutive days)
All the Details HERE!

* Start on the right side.. most people go left and it is heavier traffic at the beginning of the day.

* Eat Apple Fries and Maybe Eat them once more! No Joke here!

* Add the Aquarium and or the Water Park for more fun - get more info HERE

* If you need help during your visit - send a text to (760) 203-3604

* Bring a mini figure or buy one to trade - It is like pin trading and super fun to do. What Lego friend will you be on the look out for?

* Review the height restrictions - there is a lot to do even if your under 2!

* Bring a sweater for cool fall and winter nights. Even though the water park opens up in March, the weather can be breezy and cool some days.

Lock em up - they didn't want to leave!

What we would love to check out - the LEGOLAND HOTEL . The new Lego Friends rooms will be open soon!

We were full of fun, food and laughs. It was time to head home. We had a great day - Memories that are going to last a lifetime.

Grand Legacy Hotel to Have the Best View of the Disneyland Fireworks Rooftop!

The Grand Legacy Lives On!

Poolside with some yummies as we got ready for our Hard Hat Tour!
Have you heard of the Grand Legacy Hotel? Have you heard of Ramada Maingate at the Park? Well, the two are one in the same, but there are a lot of exciting things happening over there and I was at the NEW NAME unveiling to get the whole scoop!

Officially announced Tuesday, at about 5:30pm, the Ramada Maingate at the Park will be called the Grand Legacy At The Park!
Brandon and his Wife are so excited to officially begin this new magical journey!
The best part about it, the staff, management and ownership stays the same! Well, okay, an even better part, that warms the heart... Owner, Brandon decided it was time to give tribute to his father, family and legacy of their amazing accomplishments.

With the help of many ground breaking renovations that started in 2012, this persistent and dedicated dream team, is making it all a reality!

We are so proud of Jennifer and all her hard work. Hey do you see the Tower Of Terror in the background?! Rooftop!

In the next few months there will be many more things that will give the Grand Legacy it's fresh jump start. Not only are there rooms being added but there is so much  more to look forward to when you visit.

View of Disneyland from the Right side of the Rooftop. Perfect view all the way around!

Here are a few of the highlights from Tuesday:

* New website: www.grandlegacyhotel.com

* New hashtag: #grandlegacyliveson

* They will officially be an Independent hotel February 2nd. Same ownership and management, but we will no longer be a franchise.

* New building is set to open in late January, with rooftop bar and lounge to open in February.

* Rooftop will be family friendly during the day, with the best view of the Disneyland fireworks each night. They plan to have entertainment, drinks (full bar, upscale cocktails, wine, beer), and light food available for purchase.
**Rooftop is about 5000 square feet

* They will have the ability to host corporate groups, meetings, special events, and weddings on the rooftop.

* There will also be an indoor meeting space on the 2nd floor that can hold up to 60 people.

* Breakfast will be updated and moved into the new building.      **Still complimentary.

* New building will hold new luxurious rooms and suites. Below, a sneak peek of the beautiful bathroom and spacious room with magical view of Disneyland.

* 6 Retail shops will be open on ground level, a mini mart, ticket store, pizza place, and scooter rental for sure. This is KEY for locals on a staycation or out of towners!

We can NOT wait to check out all the new additions to the Grand Legacy. I am looking forward to the beautiful Disneyland Fireworks from the best view around, the Rooftop Lounge!
View of DCA from the Rooftop Lounge at the Grand Legacy At The Park
