Civil War Reenactment at Railway Museum Brings History To Life

Civil War Reenactment at Railway Museum (May 21-22)

Bringing History to Life at the Railway Museum!

This is so cool... in so many ways, on so many levels, of Education, History and just plain remembrance of.

I remember going to the battle fields in Virginia when visiting North Carolina in the summer of my sophomore year of high school.

It was the most touching and surreal experience visiting what touches us all so closet o what we call our HOME, the USA, I have ever been to.

If you have the chance to get out to the Railway Museum please let me know what you think and how much you learned!

Here are the deets on the event!

Civil War reenactors will bring the history of the American Civil War to life on the grounds of the Orange Empire Railway Museum May 21-22.

History buffs of all ages can experience a piece of U.S. history at our "battlefield." Step back in time and see what life was like during the War Between the States. Visit the encampments of the Union and Confederate Armies. Watch one of several battles throughout the day dramatized by 60 reenactors. The event fits well with Orange Empire Railway Museum's educational mission as the American Civil War was the first military war to use trains.

There will be plenty of photo opportunities and family fun. Admission price for this event: Ages 12 & up $7, ages 5 - 11 $5, and ages 4 and under are free. Admission and all day ride pass: Ages 12 & up $12, ages 5 - 11 $8, ages 4 and under are free.

The Orange Empire Railway Museum is an all-volunteer organization that has been preserving Southern California's railway history since 1956. The museum's mission is to educate the public on the technology, history, and impact of the rail transportation industry in the West. Over 200 rail cars and locomotives, ranging from Los Angeles street cars to modern diesel locomotives, are preserved at the museum's 100-acre site at 2201 S.
