Come celebrate Irvine Park Railroad’s 24th anniversary on Saturday, February 29th and Sunday, March 1st. 

 

We have created and shared so many memories for over three generations at Irvine Park Railroad, we are so grateful to be part of their seasonal activities, sharing all the updates and giveaways with you all too.

 

So many reasons why we love Irvine Park Railroad but the most important to me is memories with my family and friends time after time. Enjoying laughs, traditions, photos, games, train rides and more with each visit.

 

Here are the deets...

They are rolling back prices to their original 1996 prices… including $2.00 train rides! 

It’s their way of saying thank you to all of YOU loyal customers who have visited Irvine Park Railroad over the years.

Irvine Park Railroad, which has become a favorite destination for families from across Southern California, takes passengers on a 12-minute ride through scenic Irvine Regional Park. The engineer narrates the ride pointing out all of the history inside of the park which is over 100 years old. 

The Anniversary Celebration will also feature other activities including carnival games, a bounce house, panning for gold, face painting, and more. Some activities require two (2) tickets. There are $2 concessions, too, including hot dogs, sodas, ice creams, and popcorn.  

The $2 tickets are valid during the Anniversary Celebration weekend only.

Take some time to spend with the family in Santa's Village playing games, hearing a story from Mrs. Claus, decorating cookies and so much more.

 



 

Enjoy all of the activities before you board or after. You can event play in the village if you don't have tickets to see Santa!

IRVINE PARK RAILROAD’S 24th ANNUAL CHRISTMAS TRAIN - 2019

 

It’s the season, once again for Irvine Park Railroad’s annual Christmas Train. Come with family and friends and take this enchanting night ride through historic Irvine Regional Park to meet Santa Claus. The train will depart every 15 minutes from the brightly-lit train station and drop passengers off at the North Pole.

 

Christmas Train tickets may be purchased to ride the train at a specific date and time — get in line and board the train any time during the hour for which you purchase tickets. Tickets may be purchased online ONLY and can be purchased beginning Monday, November 4th at 8:00 am; tickets may not be purchased in person. Visit www.IrvineParkRailroad.com for details. 

 

While waiting to board the train, there are many activities for children to enjoy in Santa’s Village located next to the train station. Activities will be open when the Christmas Train runs and include:

Story Time with Mrs. Claus

Christmas Cookie Decorating

Carnival Games

Ice Fishing

Santa Claus Moon Bounce

Craft Corner

Blizzard Ball

Christmas Coloring Corner

Picture Stands

At the North Pole, visitors may purchase coffee, hot chocolate, freshly-popped popcorn, hot pretzels, and cookies from Santa’s Snack Shop. A full kitchen menu is available at the train station.

 

Visitors may take their own pictures with Santa or you may purchase a picture taken by Irvine Park Railroad. Each 5” x 7” photo will be presented with an Irvine Park Railroad frame and available for pickup shortly after being taken.

 

After visiting with Santa, hop back aboard the train and enjoy the colorful Christmas lights and decorations, as well as the magical “Tunnel of Lights”, on the ride back to the station.

 

When visiting the Christmas Train, remember to dress warmly, bring a camera, and arrive early to avoid crowds.

 

The Irvine Park Railroad Christmas Train is open beginning Friday, November 29th through Sunday, December 23rd. Please visit our web site for hours and to purchase tickets.   

 

The cost to ride the Christmas Train is $20.00 per person. Children younger than 24 months ride free.

 

The parking for Irvine Regional Park is $3.00 per vehicle on weekdays and $5.00 per vehicle on weekends; parking for the Christmas Train is free after 5:00 PM.

 

Annual Irvine Park Railroad events include the Anniversary Celebration, 4th Grade California History Education Program, Easter Eggstravaganza, Pumpkin Patch, Great Pumpkin Weigh-Off, and Christmas Train. 

During the day, visit Irvine Regional Park’s other activities including Wheel Fun Rentals® at Irvine Park — fun and unique bike rentals that can be enjoyed by single riders or an entire family — paddle boat rentals, the Orange County Zoo and pony rides.

From measuring up the great pumpkin perfect for your family to actually seeing the largest pumpkin entered into the contest, Irvine Park Railroad brings Halloween to life.

Pumpkin Patch activities include...

Irvine Park Railroad's 4th annual "Great Pumpkin Weigh-Off" will take place on Saturday, September 21st at 10am!

 

Come see if pumpkin growers have what it takes to grow the biggest pumpkin.
 

Cash prizes will be awarded. KTLA Channel 5 weatherman Henry DiCarlo will host this event.

Weekdays 10:00 am – 5:00 pm

* Go early and a weekday if possible. Less crowds and it is always busy!

* Sensory friendly - with games and a lot of pumpkins to touch feel and pick, it is a lot of fun for sensory seeking.

On Saturday, March 30th through Saturday, April 20th, Irvine Park Railroad will hold its annual Easter Eggstravaganza. Event activities include meeting and having your photo taken with the Easter Bunny, egg hunts, train rides, and more.

It's tradition for us each year to visit Irvine Park Railroad and see the Easter Bunny!

The Run Down on the Easter Fun...

 

Easter egg hunts begin daily at 10:00 AM and tickets may be purchased and exchanged for a wristband to participate in an egg hunt at a specific time.

 

Please bring an Easter basket for each child that will be participating in the Easter egg hunt. Irvine Park Railroad will also offer Easter baskets for sale.

 

Tickets must be purchased on the day of the event to receive a wristband for the Easter egg hunt.

For the cost of $12.00, children can meet and have their photo taken with the Easter Bunny.

 

This cost includes a complimentary photo that will be taken by Irvine Park Railroad staff.

Are you ready to celebrate with Irvine Park RR? This year they will be celebrating their 20th anniversary and we will be there to enjoy all the festivities with them. 

Come out and celebrate on Saturday February 20th and Sunday the 21st. That weekend, they will be dropping their prices to the original prices from 1996, just $2 a ticket.
