Iconic Hotel del Coronado & Luxurious Alila Marea Beach Resort Light Up the Holidays with Breathtaking Seasonal Experiences

EPIC Entertainment Group, the bi-coastal live experience and event production experts are pleased to announce their partnership with two holiday décor masterpieces in San Diego, California this holiday season. 

The EPIC experience experts are credited with transforming the historic Hotel del Coronado into a frosty, winter destination with the return of “At First Light” – a 12-minute light show spectacular, new beachside igloos, and more. Guests may enjoy Frosted by the Sea from November 17th to January 1st. EPIC has also expanded its SoCal partnerships to transform the holiday experiences of the opulent Alila Marea Beach Resort in Encinitas with elemental design and decor for the community to enjoy.

The crowd favorite “At First Light” – a light show spectacular will return to Hotel del Coronado’s 100+ year old trees, bigger and brighter than before. Following the debut of the light show in 2021, EPIC will feature over 75,000 lights showcasing choreographed shimmering illuminations for over 12 minutes. Guests can also celebrate Frosted by the Sea with NEW heated beachside igloos, each decorated with twinkling lights, cozy seating, and seasonal décor. 

EPIC will once again dazzle Hotel del Coronado’s historic lobby with a massive 22-foot Christmas tree in nearly ten thousand amber lights and nearly two thousand ornaments. EPIC’s storied holiday décor can be appreciated throughout the entire property with breathtaking bows of lush garland, shimmering oversized ornament displays, and over 20 themed Christmas trees ranging in size from 8ft, to the show-stopping 23ft lobby tree, and the 25ft garden tree. 

A short drive up the coast, Alila Marea Beach Resort will also shine bright for the holiday season thanks to EPIC Entertainment Group’s thoughtful and elegant creations. Recently named 2022 Conde Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Resort – Alila Marea is the newest hotel property to contract EPIC for holiday experiences and community immersions. 

“The architecture of Alila Marea Beach Resort is already telling a compelling story. Our goal is to reinforce that story through the use of existing coastal elements much like the property itself,'' commented Hill. “We are celebrating the season through a lens of local landscape, incorporating the natural mediums of pampas grass, sea glass, driftwood, copper, pewter, and gold.“

Guests can stroll through our charming Christmas Holiday Marketplace filled with seasonal crafts, last-minute Christmas gifts, lively and entertaining musical performances, and a visit to Mrs. Claus’ cottage to help decorate the halls with cookie decorating.

ILLUMINATION TRAIL

Holiday adventurers can walk through a tunnel of dazzling lights, guarded on both sides by two gigantic nutcracker soldiers, that lead you around a beautiful lake to various destinations such as Toyland, Electric Forest, Reindeer Grove, and Santa Village.

TOYLAND

Here, oversized Christmas presents, snowflakes, and toys are sprinkled along the trail providing excellent opportunities for Christmas card photos and Instagram fun.

 

ELECTRIC FOREST

Emerging from Toyland, guests enter onto a magical Christmas tree lane, a pathway of electrified Christmas trees of various shapes, designs, and sizes, all brought to life through amazing illuminations where every 15 minutes, our beautiful 35ft tall pixel Christmas tree comes to life in a show of music, lights, and white Christmas snowfall.

REINDEER GROVE

In the peaceful realm of Reindeer Grove, guests will have a chance to take a picture in the world’s most famous sleigh before you venture through an oversized and whimsical ornament that leads you into Santa Village, where Santa himself is waiting to greet one and all.

SANTA VILLAGE

Tis' the season for our favorite theme park to turn into Knott's Merry Farm for the Holidays!

So much to see and do with the Holiday feeling all around you. This year Knott's has added some new shows, treats and eats and of course the merriment photo opportunities around the park.

Celebrate the Holiday Season at Knott's Merry Farm with Reimagined Favorites and Timeless Classics... Experience Festive Decor, Magical Holiday Shows and So Much More!

Knott's Merry Farm beginning November 18 and extending through January 8.

Every year during the joyous season, the park undergoes a complete transformation into a dazzling winter wonderland featuring a landscape of thousands of twinkling lights, miles of beautiful garland and a variety of picturesque settings.

A variety of new shows are in store this year to celebrate the merriest season of all. The beloved ice show is reimagined for the 40th anniversary of Snoopy on Ice. Snoopy's Night Before Christmas will have all of the aspects that guests have come to love from the ice show, with special technological additions to make it more magical than ever. The Camp Snoopy Theatre debuts Best Wishes, a heartwarming tale of the Peanuts gang spreading the word of the true meaning of Christmas.

“Knott’s Merry Farm has been a cherished holiday tradition for generations of guests and season pass holders, and we’re excited to offer a full lineup of reimagined favorites and timeless classics again this season,” said Jon Storbeck, Knott’s Berry Farm vice president and general manager. “With lively music and performances, shining décor and delicious treats, Knott's Merry Farm is sure to create lasting holiday memories for the whole family to enjoy.”

Yuletide cheer is in store with Home for the Holidays, where joyous merriment takes over the Calico Mine Stage with dancing and fun set to popular holiday tunes. In the intimate setting of Ghost Town's historic Bird Cage Theatre, the Knott's melodrama company brings to life Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol and a brand-new adaptation of a classic Christmas tale - The Gift of the Magi, 1885.  

Knott's own vocal quartet, the Calico Carolers, transport guests back in time to a Victorian Christmas as they perform the season's songs throughout the streets of Ghost Town. In Calico Park, guests can be serenaded by the a capella group, The Sleigh Bells, with a soulful version of Christmas classics. At Fireman's BBQ, legendary Bluegrass Duo takes the stage with a variety of classic bluegrass hits and old favorites, and this Duo will have toes tappin' and hands clappin'! A down-home dose of Christmas cheer is in store for those who join Krazy Kirk and the Hillbillies for a foot-stompin' show with energetic music and comedy for the whole family. In Boardwalk Ballroom, the dance floor is open as the best swing bands around put their own spin on the season at the Tinsel Top Club. Nearby at Boardwalk BBQ, guests can enhance their meal with sounds from musical duo The Rockin’ Reindeer. 

Every night during Merry Farm, the park comes alive as the lights of the season brighten the night. In Ghost Town, a magical Snow and Glow experience fills the buildings and paths with thousands of lights dancing to the beat of Christmas music while “snow” gently falls. The Wilderness Dance Hall joyously transforms into Santa's Christmas Cabin, where the entire family can create fond memories by taking photos with Santa Claus and his friends. 

Throughout the park, guests can indulge in traditional holiday classics with a twist, including a Merry Farm favorite, crispy breaded turkey bites filled with perfectly seasoned stuffing and sweet cranberry sauce, or Prancer's pumpkin cheesecake roll funnel cake.

Knott's Christmas Crafts Village is back with dozens of local artisans selling their unique gifts, including chainsaw wood carvings and elegant glass blowing.
