It's All the Fad..... Hot Chocolate Bombs!!

Have you heard of Hot Chocolate Bombs?!

Okay so we decided to make them.

Let's just get to it. We had so much fun crafting these up.

What you need:

Sphere Silicone Mold

Melting Chocolate

Sprinkles 

Marshmallows

Hot Chocolate

Here are the easy to do steps:

Melt your chocolate (use micro safe bowls if need to and heat in 30 sec increments)

Pour into molds about a teaspoon at first to coat the mold.. hot tip.. or cold.. haha.. put the mold into freezer after a thin layer about a minute then layer up from center out not too thick.

Set mold in freezer to harden up chocolate

After 5 mins pop them put carefully and place on sheet. I stuck a cold pack under mine to keep them from melting when I picked them up.

Fill half the molds with hot cocoa & choclate chips, sprinkles and marshmallows

Heat a plate and put half the sphere on just to melt the edge of the rim then put it on top of the other half sealing the two halves... hold for a few seconds to melt together.

Drizzle and or sprinkle the top 

Heat milk or water and drop your hot chocolate bomb in!

We had never been to Fortune Cookies Chinese Bistro but we are so glad we tried it out. Loved every bite.. plus there was plenty to take home too.

All opinions are our own. Thank you for having us out to experience the dining.

The Shops at Rossmoor are easy to get to off the freeway and have a variety of eats as well as shopping experiences. 

Fortune Cookies Chinese Bistro is bright and open indoor dining with a full house, the wait was short and the service was amazing and fast.

We weren't sure what to narrow our tastes down to because it all looked that good!

We decided on a few dishes to share and get our tastebuds going. 

Full of flavor and seasonings with just the right amount of spice. We usually order a dish or two that has some kick to it. We like it spicy.

We really had a delightful dinner and everything we tasted was really good.

Here is what we had the pleasure of tasting on our first visit...

Chicken lettuce wraps with green and red bell pepper and water chestnuts. I'm getting hungry again just posting the photo of it. Plenty to share with your whole table. 

Crispy Orange chicken with chili peppers green onions and Orange peel house sauce. Perfect amount of kick to the spicy flavor. Really one of the best Orange Chicken dishes I've had... ever.

We've written about seasonal activities and things to do, the Paw Pass, Ten Pay Alley bowling, on site fun and the best way to enjoy the water park here  but.... I want to talk food this time.

 

Yeah Food! We love to travel and dine out while we travel and then some.

 

Something I love to do is stay at hotels and resorts that have breakfast buffet as an on site option.

 

 



 

Not only does Great Wolf Lodge have Dunkin' on site but they also have the best breakfast buffet around.

It had been a long weekend of soccer down South in San Diego for three days. It was hot and we basically survived on water, snacks, salads, sandwiches and more snacks.

 

Since we had a late game last Monday, yes Monday, we decided it would be fun to surprise Z with another experience.

 



 

If you have been following along, remember, Z asked for mini experiences for her birthday this year instead of a big pool party like she has had since she was a baby.

 

Since she is a foodie, yes we've created a monster with this, we though it would be fun to visit somewhere Z has never been.

 

 

Riptide Rockin Sushi was just birthday perfect.

 

My birthday girl loves entertainment and of course shrimp, sushi, seafood, steak, okay a true foodie is what we've really got on our hands.

Joining a new team of any sport can always be intimidating so why not bring some fun with a team building event! 

Thanks to Popcornopolis for sending us so much popcorn the girls are still excited about it all. All opinions are our own and we loved leach flavor sent. These OC Surf Soccer Club girls appreciate it.

Since the team event was at the pool I decided to surprise the girls with a sneak peek the week before. I took a few bag of their amazing Unicorn Popcorn to practice and the girls went to town. 

 



The day of the team building we had pizza, tacos, fruit and veggies but the real treat was the individual bags of these tasty treats! 

The girls were so excited and happy but the siblings were in for a surprise too. There was plenty to go around. Sharing is caring right. 

 

Just the right amount of butter, kettle corn flavoring and all the right sweet salty mix are just some of the reasons we are all Popcornopolis fans!

 



With that said I was super surprised that Popcornopolis sent us a box of the individual bagged portion sized popcorn in an awesome variety pack! 

Okay so these popcorn bad boys are coming along with us!! Yes... I have already packed some up for our trip coming up in a few weeks. Stay tuned on social media for snacking ideas on the go in the mountains! I have a feeling they will come in handy fishing too.. we sit for a while Haha!

We planned a team building event for soccer this past weekend at the pool & Rubio's was a huge success!

 



 

I was so pleasantly pleased that the Taco Tray for 10 really fed about 20. There was plenty of chips, tortillas and meat to go around.

 

Also Rubio's provides all the sides too with rice, beans, salsa, cheese and guacamole.

 

You won't even need plates or utensils to eat with or serve with.. yup all included! Loved it.

 

Delish tacos, nachos and some left over chips.

 



 

The team loved it, parents were all over it & I totally felt like everyone had plenty to eat & enjoyed pool side yummies.

Known to be an OC favorite for Brazilian and international fare, they have announced multiple updates including the addition of new meats to their diverse Chef’s Table.

 



 

We just dined in last week and had a lunch date with all the fixings! The ambiance and décor are welcoming and bright.

 



 

I've never had a Brazilian dining experience and this is with a twist. While there's fresh food and a lot of it, you serve yourself the majority of it buffet style.

 



 

While you can order appetizers like the Yucca fries and other off menu items the main meats & treats to explore are in the buffet.

 



 

The buffet has everything from salads, hummus and veggies to main home-style dishes that bring Brazil to Orange County.

 



 

Full of flavors, seasonings and the taste is as if there was someone's grandma in the back making it all.

 



 

 

There's also a full bar for date night experience... just saying.

 



 



 

 

Know Before You Go..

 

The restaurant is now open Tuesday through Sunday and offers a $26.95 all you can eat dinner with an expanded menu of proteins for their guests.

 

Silva’s Fresh Eatery + Churrascaria, which is located in the popular South Coast Metro area has added new meat offerings to their Chef’s Table which includes an eclectic selection of modern Brazilian fare and international favorites.

 



 



Guests can now enjoy Pork Ribs (marinated in lime juice & spices) and delicious Leg of Lamb (boneless) served alongside their already popular offerings of Picanha, Tri-Tip, Garlic Picanha and Skirt Steak.

 

An all you can eat lunch for $22.95 is available Tuesday through Friday and dinner for only $26.95 Tuesday through Sunday.

 



 

Silva’s has also unveiled their all-new $15.95 Power Lunch which is now available Tuesday through Thursday from 11:30am - 2pm. Hungry guests can enjoy a single pass through the Chef’s Table (4 oz of meat) and fill their plate with a wide variety of salads, local seasonal veggies, whole grains, internationally inspired sides and proteins that will please any discerning palate.

 



 

Silva’s also has happy hour offerings, which are available Tuesday through Thursday from 4-7pm. Guests can order half priced Brazilian pizzas, which include their Chicken Catupiry, Margherita, Four Cheese Bianco and their best selling Calabresa.

 

During happy hour guests can pull a seat up at their full bar and order $4 well drinks, $5 beers, $6 wine glasses and $7 specialty craft cocktails.
