New Amazing Tastes at JT Schmid's Restaurant & Brewery

Date night at JT Schmid's was a success.

If you are looking for a hot spot to taste some fresh eats and some flavorful brews, JT Schmid's is the place for you to check out!

We walked into a very open a appropriately lit Restaurant with full bar behind the host stand. The bar itself was very inviting and showcased a lot of spirits and brews available. We were seated with our social friends and the tasting began. 

I am always grateful to spend the evening with friends socializing 
and networking but it is that much more fun when the food and drinks are delish!

We had a sampling of items off of the new Fall menu and beyond. 

One of my favorites was the "Not your mama's deviled eggs" - this bold flavored deviled egg was deep fried perfection and I could have easily eaten an order all by myself. 

A not to be missed appetizer would have to be the Ceviche tacos! Fresh and the pico mixed in was just tart enough with the amount of lime. 

 I loved the Chilean Sea Bass. It was soft, seasoned well and juicy. I was bummed I only got a taste since this is one meal I could sit and eat over and over again. The sweet ginger soy flavors really left me wanting more.

In between tastes my husband and I also sampled the brews. We had a sampling that included an Oktoberfest selection. That by far was the best brew I have had in a long time. We asked for another one and shared that too. 

What better to taste after beer than red meat. Yes please. We dipped into our sample of the Hibachi Filet Steak and it just melted in my mouth. It was filled with hibachi sauce flavor and was cooked to perfection. 

My husband was raving about the Salmon. I too fell in love with this soft tasty fish. We are big on Salmon and enjoyed the taste of teriyaki flavor with the fresh veggies to pair it with. 

We thought we were done but then came out the "Bigger Badder Asser Burger" - it is 6lbs and 12" of yummy insanity! Get all the details of this monstrosity of a burger and see how it feeds 8 people here!

Everything we tasted was great. I am very thankful for the opportunity to have tasted these delightful dishes and can not wait to return for more. I want to see what they have on the sweet side of things for dessert!

Have you tried Curry before? I bet you have never tried Curry like the Curry at "Dude, Where's My Curry", in Foothill Ranch! I was able to taste all their dishes and guess what.. you can too!

It is NO secret that I love to cook. If you follow my posts, you see that I cook Curry, often!

I was so eager to check out the variety of dishes and the spice level at Dude, Where's My Curry to see how it stood up to my own homemade version. 

So remember when I said you can try it all too... well my most favorite part about this awesome Curry joint is that you can taste any or all the dishes they serve. Yes, taste! Try a sample of something you have never had before and I know you will like it. 

Sample any and all the Dishes

Get a Combo Plate - 1, 2 or 3 items. 

The way they make their dishes is almost all oil free and you can feel it. After I tried everything they had I still ate half of my 3 item plate. The portions are so big that you will have leftovers if you want by going with a multi dish combo. 

I really enjoyed how the staff takes a lot of pride in how they cook, serve and display the dishes to those that have or may have not tried Curry before. The staff is very dedicated to serving the great tastes with an awesome attitude. 

Did you know there are spice levels you can select from and dishes at Dude, Wheres My Curry that are vegetarian!? I had never tried the bean dishes and or the vegetable curry and loved them both! 

It is refreshing to see someone bring traditional family recipes to our local community. The fresh herbs, spices and ingredients used really do bring out the bold flavors in what Curry should taste like. 

My fav's so far are the Chicken Malai, Chicken Bhuna and the Mixed Vegetable Curry. 

A few things to know:

* Try everything - really use the sampling as a way to experience new Curry tastes!

Samples anyone?!

* The owner Rohit is dedicated to bringing good, quality, cultural food to OC. He uses recipes that his family has passed down for years and incorporates a lot of pride into recreating his father's dishes. 

* They make in house homemade Ice Cream - it comes in three flavors - Mango & Rose Water, Pistachio and Cardamom. All tasty but loved the Pistachio. 

* They serve a traditional Indian drink called the Mango Lassi. A yogurt based mango drink with a hint of Rose water. It was refreshing and tasty. 

* They deliver! Call it in.

* They make their Naan Bread fresh and I mean FRESH in their traditional Indian Clay oven.

We Loved EEK! AT THE GREEK!

EEK! At The GREEK! was a Halloween Musical Thrill!

This was out first time heading out to EEK! At The GREEK! 

Before we left the house we had to get a selfie of my girls Halloween costume - Pirate arg! She was so excited to head up to the Greek Theatre!

It took us about an hour and a half to get up to the Greek Theatre. The drive is nice and we had a lot to show and talk about since the kids don't often go up to Los Angeles. 

Th Greek Theatre is awesome. It is perfectly located in the hills and the music always sounds so good there. We were so excited to check out the fun. 

The kids were super excited to Trick or Treat and visit all the booths they had set up. We also noticed that Snoopy was there and the Peanuts gang was showing their presence with their Movie coming out soon. 

There were a lot of stops to make for candy and who can say no to the good stuff, hehe! Thank you for the sweets and fun! Both of my kids loved the pre show entertainment. 

Foam Crafting - PC EEK! At The GREEK!

We were able to visit the hospitality room for some special sweets. I loved the walk way into the lounge, it was so festive for Halloween. 

There were the most creative sweets and crafty eats - naturally we had to take a pic of our favorite.. the mama rat with her chocolaty cherry babies. HeHe so cute and tasty too! 

The Symphony of the Glen Orchestra started and the kids were loving it. Not going to lie, I was having a great time too. Our favorite part of the show was most definitely the showing of Walt Disney's cartoon "Skeleton Dance" paired up to the live music of it by the Orchestra! 

Both of the kids had so much fun! I am so grateful for the opportunity to have brought them as a family to hear and see the Fall fun brought to life with music! It really is something special to listen to and be part of live. 

After the show we were able to donate to the Children's Hospital Los Angeles and select a pumpkin! Love it, the kids had a blast running around picking their favorite to take home. Thank you so much.

PC EEK! at the GREEK!

The night was perfect. What I loved most - that BOTH of my kids were able to enjoy this evening. 

 ** My daughter loved every moment from the trick or treating to the Symphony. My son who is on the spectrum did so well, my husband and I were so happy. He loved the music and what was on the screens to pair up to each piece played. They both loved donating to pick a pumpkin. **

We hope to return next year to celebrate Fall fun during Halloween time and hear more of the wonderful music the Symphony of the Glen Orchestra played for us. It was such an awesome family night out in Los Angeles, something we don't get to do often! Thank you to the Greek Theatre and of course our new Fall fav EEK! at the GREEK!

Meet & Greet Questions for the Peanuts Gang - Peanuts Movie in Theaters Nov 6th

The Peanuts Movie is coming to Theater's November 6th!

We are so excited for the +The Peanuts Movie !!

With the moving coming out On November 6th - there is a lot of prepping to do. We will have to make sure we re watch "Charlie Brown and the great Pumpkin" and a few others before the 6th. 

I have a special spot for Snoopy and the Peanuts Gang in my heart. It was always tradition for my parents to take us to Knott's, Camp Snoopy, to see the friends and get our big hugs on! 

We were privileged enough to be invited to a meet and greet with the Characters, some of the writers and creators of the Movie itself On Halloween at Knott's Berry Farm inside of Camp Snoopy on Halloween! We can not wait to get there and meet these awesome folks that have been bringing the Peanuts to us for generations and for more to come. 

We have our list of questions ready - I mean it's a new movie coming out so there are a lot of questions going around our house about the plot, the characters and more. 

* Will Lucy dupe Charlie Brown into missing the football, again?!

* Is Lucy still chasing love down from Charlie Brown?!

* What was the best part about playing the character each of the actors got to play?

* What was your favorite part of the movie? (directed at the voices of)

* How many hours did it take to create the movie form start to finish. Voices to editing for screen ready?!

* Are there any hidden secret hints or things we should look out for in the movie for future buzz?

* Will Charlie Brown ever end up with the little Red Haired Girl!?

These are just a few that the kids and I came up with the last few weeks while we patiently wait to interview the Peanuts Movie Team!

Kidz Bop Holiday Music is in our Home! Gift Guide

* Winter Wonderland - Who doesn't love this one!

What I love most about this is that I as the parent can enjoy these tunes with my kids and really love the time were rocking out together. It's the little things that I hold closest - like my mom singing Christmas songs with me. 

I would totally suggest hooking your kiddos up with this CD pre Holidays so that you can all enjoy the festivities the music brings up tot he day and after too!

We can not get enough of Irvine Park Railroad!

Family Fun for Everyone!

Last weekend we returned to Irvine Park Rail Road for more family fun. My husband missed out on the first visit so he wanted to have some Fall fun with the kids too. 

We decided to do all the fun stuff they wanted and then surprise them with a bike ride. The day was perfect as far as the weather goes, since it's been so HOT it was a nice change and felt more like Fall - YEAH!

This little boy was all smiles and had a wonderful time. He loves to run through the Hay Maze and jump in the bounce house! 

After a few family fun shots and a ride on the Train, we decided to head over to the bike rentals!

I love that there are so many choices on the rentals and can fit parties of all sizes, with and with out kids. 

My parents used to do this with my brother and I, we loved it. I am so grateful that we are able to do the same things with our kids. Its the traditions that keep a family together for generations.

Already Wishing For Some Sparkle for the Holidays from Don Roberto's Jewelers!

The Holidays are on their way!

It's that time of year. When the kids start seeing commercials or ads of toys, games and so much more. Christmas seems to creep up on us all, well for me it creeps fast, almost pounces on me!

I am always so eager to see what my family wants, what the kids want, what to look out for and get everyone, that I seem to always leave myself for last. 

NOT this year! I am so excited that my 10 year Anniversary is coming up in 2016. I am looking forward to many more "new" adventures with my family. Time is precious and I treasure it. I totally started looking for jewelry that I can drop some hints with.

4 Fast and Easy Meals for Your busy Week!

Help with Meals - Look no further! Here is a list of meals that you can make in a time crunch that are easy, fast and everyone will love to eat!

Al Pastor Tacos - easy Prep, fast and so good. Can eat them with Tortillas or even lettuce wrap style.

Frozen Meatballs - Use these to make anything fast like pasta topping, in BBQ sauce or like we did as meatball sub sandwiches. Tasty!

Curry - So fresh and full of herbs and spices, this is one that will get everyone excited to try it! Toss some Rice in the rice cooker and your golden!

Carnitas - Use your crock pot and totally get away with minimal cooking on this one for sure! Serve with anything from beans and rice to a salad and corn. Fresh, homemade and tastes juicy and great.

Use leftovers for a hodge podge meal or even in salads the next day for lunch!

These are just a few of my tasty and fast meals. I love to cook fresh and home made but sometimes time just gets the most of us and we need quick fixes or meals we can set and walk away from but come back to ready to serve.

Fast and Easy Green Chile Chicken

Dinner Time Rush meets Fast and East Tastes

I love to cook from scratch and at home. Sometimes I want to eat something tasty but just don't have time to actually get to it. I mean with schedules of the kids and washing machine breaking down, who does have time to do this every night.

I totally love this short cut. I think this may become one of the weekly dishes I make my family since it can be tossed together in basically 10 mins! 

Steps to Fast and Easy Green Chile Chicken:

* Find your favorite Green sauce (this is where were cheating since the best way is to use tomatillos but if you find a good sauce that;s a score) and simmer 32oz or so worth. 

* Get an already cooked chicken - take the skin and bones out and use the meat to toss into your simmering sauce.

* Toss in a 1/4 chopped onion 

* add Salt and pepper to taste and let simmer

* add the lime juice into your Chicken and Sauce and continue to simmer

* simmer for 2 to 3 mins and then it's ready!

Serve with rice and or tortillas.

Halloween DYI Crafting Fun

Get into the Halloween Fun with Crafts!

I love crafts that we can do together. My kids like to make a mess and I like to let them.

Last Saturday we spent a few hours of down time crafting.

It was really fun to let the kids get creative with bright colors. 

Here is a step by step to make a colorful pumpkin wreath and a mini pumpkin! 

* Cut your shapes from cardboard, we used an old water bottle case box. 

* We used the cut out from the circle used for the pumpkin as a mini pumpkin.

* Scrunch tissue paper, the color of your choice and stick with glue or double sided tape like we did.

* Paint your second craft - the pumpkin. After it dries a bit then add the layered curved lines in with more coats of paint to give the pumpkin look to it. 

* add any accessories to your crafts - we added tissue paper to the tops of both pumpkin wreath and mini so that the stem was more vibrant & stands out. 

We got the tissue paper our of our bag of gift bags and tissue paper stash and we used tempra paints that my kids paint with. 

We taped a little piece of string to the back and looped it so that it would hang.

EEK! At The Greek! features Symphony in the Glen with Arthur B. Rubinstein. Taking place October 24th there will also be a Trick or Treat village that opens at 4:30p with the main stage performance at 7pm.
