OC Animal Care to Waive Animal Adoption Fees on Saturday, September 10 #adoptdontshop

Adopt a Loving Pet and Help Reduce Overcrowding in the Shelter - OC Animal Care in Tustin | 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Supervisor Foley Partners with OC Animal Care to Waive Animal Adoption Fees

Have a Pet lover in your family that is looking to adopt or maybe it's you that wants a Furry friend?!

Today we received some purrfect details on Pet adoption locally to us here in Orange County.

Hot off the press...

"Adopt a furry friend and help empty overcrowding shelters with Supervisor Foley’s first annual Animal Adoption Day! This special one-day adoption event, presented in partnership with Orange County Supervisor Katrina Foley and OC Animal Care, will take place on Saturday, September 10, at OC Animal Care in Tustin from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. During Animal Adoption Day, walk-ups are welcome; a drive through pet food pantry will provide free food and necessities from 8 a.m. - 10 a.m.; adoption fees will be waived from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.; and Pooches on the Patio, a volunteer-led doggy meet and greet event, will take place from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. To learn more and request an adoption appointment, visit OCPetInfo.com.

“Animal shelters across the County are over capacity, including OC Animal Care in Tustin,” shared Supervisor Foley. “This shelter has capacity for about 200 dogs and 300 cats, but currently houses more than double its max capacity of animals. By hosting Animal Adoption Day, we hope to encourage the public to adopt, foster, or volunteer with our County shelters to support our region’s homeless pets.”

The event launches a month-long, first-come first-serve initiative where Supervisor Foley’s office will waive adoption fees for up to 200 pets.

Each adopted animal comes with a microchip, vaccinations, spay or neutering, and an anti-parasite treatment. Additionally, each adopted pet will receive a certificate for a free veterinary exam at participating Southern California Veterinary Medical Association clinics within 72-hours of adoption.

Walk-ins are available for cat adoptions. Those looking to adopt a dog are encouraged to book an appointment for expedited service but can also drop-by to visit. A few of the most prevalent breeds currently available for adoption at OC Animal Care include huskies, German shepherds, and pit bulls."

“Thank you to Supervisor Foley for hosting this event and encouraging our community to opt to adopt their new best friend from OC Animal Care,” said Andi Bernard, OC Animal Care Director. “Our shelter is facing a staffing shortage while caring for over 900 animals through our shelter and foster programs. With waived adoption fees, free starting supplies for each adopting family, and the drive-thru pet food pantry, we invite community members to join us so we can connect hundreds of cats and dogs with their forever families.”

Halloween-themed show Vampirates
Shows will run select nights Sept. 27 to Oct. 31

We are Pirates Dinner Adventure fans! Every Season there is something unique and fun to change up the show. My kids love it, my husband loves it and a night out as a pirate family is right up our galley I mean alley!

Undead pirates have arrived uninvited at Treasure Bay’s annual Halloween Ball – it’s up to you to you to save the day!

Guests can get 25 percent off tickets
for Vampirates with code “FANGS” when booking over the phone.

"You and your family are cordially invited to the annual Halloween Ball, a gala filled with celebration, games, songs and fun."

But beware! Danger lurks just outside the
safety of Treasure Bay. A ruthless crew of Vampirates, led by the dark soul of Captain Sebastian the Black, have set sail with one thing on their mind – the Solzana's Eye.

This necklace possesses magical powers beyond imagination, and in the hands of Captain Sebastian the Black, will allow him to escape the curse of the night to sail the seas during the day, creating more destruction and spreading fear. The only way to defeat the Vampirates and bring peace back to Treasure Bay is with your help.

"Pirates Dinner Adventure is bringing the spooky spirit to families from all over Southern California and guests visiting Orange County this season,” said Julio Duran, the general manager of the attraction.

“There’s no better way to celebrate this haunting holiday than to defeat a crew of evil Vampirates!”

During Halloween weekend, Pirates Dinner Adventure will be offering trick-or-treating and a costume contest at each show.
